Kawal Wildlife Sanctuary
Kawal wildlife sanctuary, established in 1965, comprises of dry deciduous forest. With the advent of monsoon (June-September), the entire complex is adorned with greenery with bamboo, teak, herbs, shrubs and diverse variety of trees to add to the green cover. The best time to visit the sanctuary is during winters.
Animals such as Nilgai, Barking deer, Sambar,Sloth bear, Cheetal, Indian Bison, Tiger and Panther have made the sanctuary lively and interesting. Reptiles that you have seen only in books can be seen here. It can be scary at times but it does bring out the excitement in children and adults alike!
Follow real animals - Python, Monitor lizard, crocodile, cobra, star tortoise etc. Enjoy the large variety of birds all around you - Mynahs, Quails, Eagles, Kingfishers, Patridge, Owls, Kites and yes, unusual migratory birds too! A haven for bird watchers.
The government is making efforts to curb poaching, illegal deforestation and human encroachments. New posts have been made and water sources have been upgraded. The sanctuary was made a Tiger Reserve in April, 2012.

Sivaram Wildlife Sanctuary
Sivaram wildlife sanctuary is unique as it is home for the Marsh crocodile or Mugger which can crawl quite a distance on land. There are many other species of crocodiles too. There are trees such as teak, bamboo, cassia etc. Jeeps are available here so that you can venture inside forests - jungle safari brings out the excitement in you! Do not forget to watch out for tiger, cheetal, langur, rhesus monkey, sambar, sloth bear etc.
